You could be Alex Hormozi

The origin of a guru

You could be Alex Hormozi. Ok, maybe not him exactly. Not sure what your weight lifting proclivities are or how strong your beard game is (I’m weak on both), but you could be a guru. You could be looked up to (and reviled) on Instagram.

Gurus are people who try stuff and tell people about the results. If you work on the same problem long enough, you’ll hit a breakthrough. You’ll look like an overnight success and opportunity will flock your way.

Let me clear: I’m not saying be a guru. Just that you could be making the same video they are. You’ve probably had an idea that you thought could work, but you haven’t implemented it.

What if you started implementing your ideas and sharing the results? If you do the idea-iterate-improve loop, you’ll eventually hit a threshold and your stuff will be good enough to sell. Or even better, you’ll have a successful business.

Every guru started as a non-guru. There are gurus that started after you (or me for that matter; one guy that I hired as a junior copywriter is now wayyy famous in the copywriting space). There are gurus that started with less than you.

Note: I’m Not Talking About Scammers

One note: gurus that lie aren’t gurus, they’re liars.

Gurus that push their product on you even if it isn’t right for you isn’t a liar, but he is a pushy salesperson who doesn’t care about his clients.

There are good gurus who have something valuable to share, and charge to share it. You could be one of those if you’re interested in that business!
